Set to Change Perceptions about Food in India – Sunita Narain
With science-based knowledge as her main tool and her feet steady on the ground, Sunita Narain embraces the challenges of her India. She is set to break the mindset of the Indian public about food and to help them make better food choices. Overweight is a challenge for India as it is on a global scale. In India, vegetarian meals is a tradition, but fast food and unhealthy food additives are increasingly common. This is not the path Narain wants to see expanding.
As the director of India’s Center for Science and Environment, Sunita Narain uses an activist way to disseminate information and knowledge about food with the goal to change perceptions about what is healthy and sustainable food choices. We had the chance meet her at the EAT Forum 2014 in Stockholm.
