Marit Wirén Toll

Marit Wirén Toll works as a Project Manager within the Future Food program and is based at Torsåker Farm, Axfoundation's test farm and development center.

Marit has several years of experience in various aspects of the green industry and has worked in areas such as industrial baking, quality control, sales, and certification. Most recently, Marit comes from Agro Västmanland, where as Operations Manager she helped build the organization. There, she primarily worked on issues related to the food strategy and, through it, conducted promotional activities for farmers and food producers in Västmanland County. This was with the vision of increasing food production in the county both sustainably and in the long term.

Marit also runs a farm together with her husband, where they have pig farming, crop farming, and forestry. The farm makes Marit feel deeply connected to real-world food production. As she says: "It gives me both inspiration, knowledge and occasionally a few grey hairs."

Issues concerning food production are important to Marit, and since 2016, she has been an elected member of Lantmännen and serves on the preparation committee for the Lantmännen Research Foundation.

Marit studied Horticulture at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in Alnarp. She has also studied economics, marketing, and project management.
